This approaching week is a big one in technology news. Products, press releases, news, gossip, and buzz are all spilling over into the blogosphere as CeBit looms on the horizon. The Hanover-based trade show is the Mecca of tech and gadget entrepreneurs, and this year is looking to be no exception in that regard. Things that are looking particularly exciting for CeBit 2010, which kicks off on the 2nd of March, include the "Next Level 3D" floor space, in which the visuals of "Avatar" and Imax are brought to the home viewer, and an increased focus on green and eco-friendly technology. CeBit aside, this is also the week of the lava-hot Global Ignite Week, a transnational series of conferences held in theaters, restaurants, bars, and clubs in which each speaker is limited to five minuets and twenty slides: something like amateur night for geeks and techies everywhere. Plus, there's the New York City Shorty Awards, celebrating the most useful contributions to that pillar of society: Twitter. No word on whether acceptance speeches will be limited to 140 characters.
